1. What is normalisation and why does it matter?
Why they ask: A staple of the Wipro technical round; they follow up with a table design.
How to answer: Explain 1NF to 3NF briefly, then say when you would deliberately denormalise for read performance.
2. Write a program to reverse a string without built-in functions.
Why they ask: They check whether you can reason about indexes and edge cases aloud.
How to answer: Talk through the two-pointer approach before you write, then handle empty and single-character inputs.
3. Are you comfortable with the service agreement?
Why they ask: Wipro asks this explicitly and treats hedging as a flight risk.
How to answer: Answer yes or no clearly. If yes, do not add conditions. If you have a concern, ask about it as a question, not as a negotiation.
4. Describe a failure and what you learned.
Why they ask: They look for ownership without self-destruction.
How to answer: Pick a real, low-stakes failure, own your part in one line, and spend most of the answer on the change you made afterwards.
5. Why are you leaving your current company?
Why they ask: Stability screening for laterals.
How to answer: Frame around growth and scope, never around a manager or pay alone. One sentence, then pivot to what you want next.
